Viaje al pasado · Sant Jordi in Barcelona

In April 2026, Anna Payan travelled to Barcelona for Sant Jordi, one of Catalonia's most celebrated literary traditions, to present and sign copies of Viaje al pasado, the illustrated children's book she created with Mosquito Books and author Lucas Riera.

Published in March 2026, Viaje al pasado explores what childhood was like throughout different periods of history, from Prehistory and Ancient Egypt to the Middle Ages and the modern world. The book looks at the games, education, work, family life and rights of children across different historical periods.

As part of the Sant Jordi celebrations, Anna joined Mosquito Books for a book signing on Passeig de Gràcia in Barcelona, meeting readers and signing copies of the book she illustrated.

The event was a special opportunity to celebrate the publication of the project in person and to share the illustrated world of Viaje al pasado directly with its readers, in the unique atmosphere of Sant Jordi.

For Anna, participating in Sant Jordi marked an important moment in the journey of the book — bringing the illustrations she had developed throughout the project from the studio to one of Barcelona's most important literary celebrations.
