ABOUT:
The Barcelonian is a collective illustration project that pays homage to the legendary The New Yorker through the covers of a nonexistent magazine.
My cover «Barcelona in four acts» shows a typical Barcelonian building. Inside, four of the most influential people in the artistic sphere of Barcelona work in a relaxed and calm manner.
Each one represents an important area of culture: Joan Miró through painting, Mercè Rodoreda through writing, Montserrat Caballé through music and Antoni Gaudí through architecture.
I made this illustration to show the person behind the work of art. Who were them? Which elements used to decorate their spaces? Each room is full of real references that I took looking at old photographs. I invite you to get lost in each space and enjoy.
